Induction week 二日目

【良かった点】

・他己紹介のWSで真っ先に手を挙げて発表できたこと

・一対一、face to faceのコミュニケーションであれば何とか理解できる

・先生のゆっくりわかりやすいスピーチには何とか理解できる

・Bright Spaceを少しずつ読んでいる

【改善点】

・グループトークについていけないこと

→わからないときは話をさえぎって質問する

→自分の意見を述べる

・レクチャーの中で理解できていないポイントがある

→友人に質問して疑問点を明らかにする

ついに始まる、MSc in International Public Health！

良かった点

・勇気を持って、クラスメイトに話しかけ、友人ができたこと

・ウェルカムスピーチをしてくれた先生の言ってることが7割くらい理解できたこと

改善すべき点

・ネイティブスピーカーとの雑談についていけないこと

→リスニング力を強化する

→わからなかったらひつこく聞き直す

→ネイティブスーカーを避けない

Roll over in her sleep for the first time

She could roll over in her sleep for the first time in the morning. Unfortunately, we could not see her rolling over just in time but my wife listened to the sound which Waka made when she turned. In general, it is nearly five months old that a baby can roll over by herself. We are feeling happy because it means an evidence of Waka’s growth. Although I keep observing her for a while, after all, she hasn’t shown us her rolling over again so far.

By the way, I had been depressed and had lost my motivation to study English until a few days ago because it was very difficult for me to write a 2^nd reference letter to apply for graduate school in the UK. I managed to finish writing it yesterday and I recovered from bad situation. I need to enjoy studying English without feeling any stress.

health check-up for Waka at four months old

We visited Ushigome health center for health check-up for Waka at four months old. Height was 66.3cm, weight was 8,350g circumference of chest was 43.5cm, circumference of head was 42.3cm. Feeding method is breastfeeding and Waka’s diet is very good. Hip joint is normal. Overall, Waka’s general health was excellent. When five months pass after birth, she will begin to eat baby food. Because I have never cooked baby food in my life, I will attend a cooking class presented by Ushigome health center on 30^th of August.

This is a personal matter and I had lost the motivation to study English because I had found it difficult for me to write a reference letter to apply for a graduate school. However, I managed to finish writing it today and I recovered my energy. I’m going to restart to study English in this evening.

Lunch with ex-coworkers

Although it was very humid and sticky today, I went out with my daughter to meet ex-coworkers (Ns.Omizo and Ns.Tomoko-san) at Shinjuku city. We enjoyed talking and eating some European dishes. Four months have passed since I quit my job and I don’t have any confidence in working at ICU where there are some serious patients. We shared present situations and future plans.

I bought a waffle on the way home from Shinjuku station with my feelings of gratitude. After coming back home, I cooked Yakisoba for my wife. And I’ve started to study English just now.
