Celebration on Waka's 100 days old

Today, Waka is 103 days old. We had the Okuizome (“First Meal”) for her. Okuizome is a Japanese tradition that parents carry out on the around 100th day after the birth of their child. By performing the ritual, they hope their child will always have good food in abundance and will never go hungry for the rest of his or her life.

My mother prepared a deluxe meal for Waka. She was so excited to celebrate her first granddaughter's weaning ceremony, that she prepared a beautiful Okuizome dining set specially.

Waka looked very happy and satisfied with first meal although she had never spoken Japanese yet.
